- If you arrived in Canada with a Super Visa that was valid prior to July 4th; when you entered Canada, the border services agent gave you a certain amount of time to stay; that time limit is still in effect. For instance, if you were given two years, that is how long it would last.
- However, if you wish to take advantage of a longer stay, you must depart Canada before the expiration of your visa and return after July 4th, 2022. If you continue to complete all requirements for a Super Visa in Ahmedabad, the border services officer may extend your stay for up to 5 years.
- Alternatively, you can apply to extend your stay in Canada and request a maximum 2-year extension.
- While in Canada and upon re-entry, Super Visa holders must renew and/or maintain their health insurance.
In order to be qualified for a super visa, you must:
- Be a citizen of Canada or a permanent resident, or the parent or grandparent of one.
- $100,000 or more in emergency coverage to be qualified for Super Visa in Ahmedabad.
- Possess a letter inviting you to visit Canada, signed by your child or grandchild, that says the following: a commitment to provide funding for the duration of your visit, who is on this person’s household roster and how many there are.
- A certified copy of the applicant’s Canadian citizenship or permanent resident card
- Have health coverage provided by a Canadian insurance provider that is: valid from the entry date for at least a year.
- Possess documentation demonstrating that the medical insurance is fully paid (quotes are not acceptable).
